When Festivals Wash Out

Hello Friends!

Emily and I had hoped to see everyone at the Huntington Tulip Festival this past weekend, but alas, the weather had other plans. :(

We wanted to show off our NEW LOGO! Thanks to the amazing Lisa Dalton for her incredible design skills in making us the perfect logo! We LOVE it!

We were so looking forward to spending a day of creating with all the children and families that attend the festival! We meet a lot of families that are looking for affordable classes for their kiddos and THAT'S what we do at EmmaLoops!

We are teachers.

We are Moms too.

We GET it ;)

This summer, we have 8 weeks of creativity camps, sure to have something for each child to express themselves, meet like-minded kids AND make some AWESOME projects!

Long time, no blog - and Summer 2016

Hello Friends!

It has been a long time since our last post here at Loops by Keri. Lots of life stuff, lots of work stuff...but I think we're back in the saddle again. Whoo-hoo!

I am going to start off with our amazing offerings at EmmaLoops Studio in Huntington NY this summer! 

We’ve got some amazing projects up our sleeves and as always we teach how to do the process NOT JUST a product so they can leave our classes and do more on their own too. :)

Each week is 3 afternoons of crafting 1pm-4pm, Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday- for just $150 per week which includes all materials!  PLUS- SAVE if you have a sibling join us or do multiple weeks for $135 each additional week/sibling! 

And we have lots of amazing themes- trendy! doll making! STEM + Art week as school gets closer ;)

Craft classes for children of all ages! Our mission as artists, moms and experienced teachers is to bring affordable craft workshops to the Town of Huntington. Located right outside Huntington village.

Each week, we will have a 3 day, 3 hour class with amazing projects and fun planned for all ages 5 & up in our Huntington Studio.

We are starting with Beach Week! A bit of sewing, a bit of crafting, a LOT of fun!!

Then on to Fairy Week 

With the release of the new movie, we'll be celebrating Minions the week of July 21st 

Sewing is a great way to encourage creativity and build fine motor skills. We'll learn to use a sewing machine too!

We LOVE to explore with messy materials. Have your child join us and leave the cleanup to us ;)

We're going to teach them to make it work! ;)

We're going to make some cool things for their room - DIY kid style

Knit While They Play Starts Today at the Sandbox Playspace

Looking for something fun to do with your little one this afternoon? 

Have you seen the Sandbox Playspace? It's a beautiful open-ended play space located in the heart of Huntington village at 51 Gibson Ave, where you can drop in and find handcrafted toys made of natural materials, like wood, silk, & wool to nourish little senses and to inspire an imaginative, unplugged play experience.


Starting TODAY, you can come join Loops by Keri on Wednesdays  from 1:30pm-2:30pm, as we sit and knit a bit. It’s the perfect way to spend some quiet time while your little one explores all the Sandbox has to offer.


Bring a project you are working on or come learn to knit! You can bring needles and yarn or we will have a little kit available for purchase that includes needles, beautiful wool and instructions to make a mini scarf perfect for a doll or stuffed friend or a ball for your little one to play with for just $10.

Knit while they Play is Free to Sandbox members. Nonmembers pay $20 which includes playtime for child up to age 5.

Creativity Camps in Huntington - have your child join the fun!

My partner Emily and I have been running 2 day Creativity Camps in Huntington for kids this summer and we've had a blast! We've explored weaving, nature, Frozen and Minecraft and more! 

Let your child explore their creativity with us this summer. We still have LOTS more fun planned... 

If you need a LONGER day for them, they can take both morning & afternoon classes and stay with us for lunch. NO CHARGE for the lunch time- just pack a lunch! ;) 

We still have some room for our exploration of dyeing this Tuesday and Thursday July 22nd and 24th from 12:15pm-2:15pm if your child would like to join us. WAY beyond just basic tie-dye. We'll dye fabric and yarn and use them to create original tie-dye pieces! Exploring ALL types of dyeing- How-to’s of tie-dyeing & creating an original tie-dye piece. We will also overdye, dip dye...SO much fun! Bring light or white colored items to work with- stained ones are fine! Socks, t-shirts, shorts, pillowcases- anything! We are going to have a messy good time. For ages 5+

Next Week! July 29th and 31st from 12:15pm-2:15pm- For ages 6+

Our children's version of pillow project runway. They will MAKE IT WORK! :)  The choice is up to the designer, your child! Perfect for a beginner sewer. If your child is more advanced, they can progress to embellishments and other design elements. We run the class at each child's level.

The skills they will learn are endless such as; drawing a template, cutting the letters, threading needles, hand-sewing and stuffing until completion. These skills help develop eye hand coordination, motor planning and control and all add up to a TREMENDOUS feeling of accomplishment when their vision is completed!

Japanese Kites Aug 5th & 7th- 9:30am-11:30am - $75.00 for 2 day session includes all materials and snack Ages 5+

Am Session - Koinobori Wind Kites Join us to create your own Koinobori, a carp windsock. These beautiful kites decorate the landscape of Japan to honor Children’s Day.




Drawing Frozen! Aug 5th & 7th- 12:15pm-2:15pm - $75.00 for 2 day session includes all materials Ages 6+ Our Frozen camp was so popular! THIS time we are going to learn to draw our favorite frozen friends! Emily Diamond, art teacher extraordinaire, will break it all down and have everyone sketching and singing and having a Frozen fun time! 

Fabulous Foods for your American Girl! Aug 12th & 14th- 9:30am-11:30 pm $80.00 for 2 day session includes all materials and snack Ages 7+Fabulous food for our friends Come join us to make all sorts of teeny treats and foods for our dolls! We’ll use all sorts of mediums in this class- clay, beads, fabrics and felts as we create lots of treats! 


Accessories for your American Girl! Aug 12th & 14th- 12:15pm-2:15pm pm $80.00 for 2 day session includes all materials and snack Ages 7+Accessories in the Afternoon Love all the cute accessories for your doll? We do too! Let’s make some together! The options are endless… purse, scarf, hat, skirt, maybe all of them!


Art of the LEGO Brick - Aug 19th & 21st- 9:30am-11:30 pm $75.00 for 2 day session includes all materials and snack Ages 5+Art of the Brick - We are going to use everyone’s favorite plastic bricks (LEGO!) to build, construct, collaborate. The children will then photograph the structures and learn how to upload them to our website to share their creations. We will supply all the legos for kids to use in class, but they will not bring any legos home.

Paper Popping Up! - Aug 19th & 21st- 12:15pm-2:15pm $75.00 for 2 day session includes all materials and snack Ages 5+PM Session – Paper Popping Up! Let’s take our exploration of paper to the next level and learn how to manipulate it! We’ll learn how pop up books are made and how to make some cards or a book ourselves!

FREE Open House- This Monday from 10am-1pm in Huntington

My kids go to an amazing school. They've made true, lasting friendships and we have this incredible community. But I am still amazed sometimes at the friends I have made thanks to this incredible school.

Case in point, my awesome partner, Emily Diamond. 

First, her name is just so cool. And she is an art teacher. Miss Diamond, the art teacher! The perfect art teacher's name. And Emily lives up to the name. Totally a sparkly gem, full of energy and positivity and enthusiasm.

At one playdate we got to talking. Emily loved my Loops by Keri knits and sewing projects I did with my sewing students.  I loved her joy of letting kids create and getting involved in the process, not just getting hung up on them making a "perfect" piece. We talked about how we would love to have a place where kids and adults could delve into that creativity. An AFFORDABLE place. And so EmmaMade featuring Loops by Keri was born.

We are having a FREE open house this Monday June 30th, from 10am-1pm in Huntington to introduce people to our studio, to meet Emily and I, to let the kids craft and the parents talk! We would love you to join us!

We have been running workshops and classes and Parents Night Out, where kids stay with us and craft and parents get to go out alone! 

We decided for summer to create mini Creativity camps. Camps that have different themes and are 2 hours in length for a Tuesday/Thursday. We have a class in the am (9:30-11:30) and another in the pm (12:15-2:15) Kids can choose to come for one session or stay for both (with no extra charge for the lunch time- just bring a packed lunch) There is a comfortable place for parents to stay if a child has trouble separating. We're moms. We've been there.

Friday Night Knitting- May 2nd and Tulip Festival May 4th!

Come learn to knit in our relaxed environment while meeting some new friends in Huntington NY!

We’ll teach you how to cast stitches on the needle, and how to knit. Perfect for the new knitter or if you need to relearn some long lost skills.
